Homepage widgets are the cornerstone of what makes Social Democrat as flexible as it is. You use widgets to build out your modular homepage into an awesome landing page. 

When you tag a page in your site with "homepage", a representation of that page will appear on your homepage. It will look like a little panel with your page headline, a button leading to the full page, and some basic features. Different homepage widgets have different features and we encourage you to play with all of them.

Note: For homepage widgets to work, your homepage has to be a basic page type.

Note #2: We've noticed that sometimes after you add the homepage tag to a page it does not show up on home right away. To activate it you may need to go to the site settings and clear the cache.
