cStreet Campaigns is a new Toronto-based digital campaigning firm that specializes in NationBuilder developments for non-profit & advocacy campaigns, political candidates and labour unions looking to revolutionize their web presence and mobilize their supporters.

The Position:
cStreet Campaigns is seeking a Design and Development Partner to join our virtual social change agency. We're looking for someone who is as passionate as we are about working with world-changing clients to win campaigns for social, economic and environmental justice.

The Design and Development Partner will have two primary activities for which they are responsible:

1) Developing designs for custom websites for clients based on design briefs. We’ve set a high standard for design, and this is a major differentiator between cStreet and other firms operating in this space.
2) Develop website themes in NationBuilder’s theming environment for clients based on approved designs. More on NationBuilder theming: http://nationbuilder.com/theme_documentation

Requirements:
-A commitment to progressive politics: You like legislation to prevent climate change more than your like pipelines. You think Thomas Mulcair should be the next Prime Minister of Canada. You think childcare workers, teachers and the folks who pick up our trash should earn living wages. All the fun stuff.
-Proficiency in CSS & HTML.
-Savvy design mind and you know your way around Adobe Creative Suite.
-Experience extending CSS with SAAS and HTML with Liquid is great but not required.
-Experience working at a union, NGO, with an elected official / election campaign or other progressive organisation would be beneficial.
-Experience with browser testing, mobile themes and a/b testing all beneficial.
-Barring any of the above, demonstrated passion for learning new things.
-Experience with NationBuilder or NationBuilder-theming is not a requirement.

The bottom line: If you’re comfortable with HTML/CSS & design are excited to build a business that’s using the web to change the world, then we want to hear from you.

Our current and past clients have included:
Greenpeace India: Helped develop a microsite that recieved 150k+ peitition signature to stop coal mining in the rainforest.
United Voice Queensland: Working to develop compelling web experience for the leading union for low wage service workers in Australia.
Erin Weir for Saskatchewan NDP Leader: Trying to make a union economist the next leader of the party, and the next Premier of Saskatchewan.

Perks:
We’re not looking for an employee, we’re looking for a partner.
Want to take off for a few months and live in South America?
Want flexible hours to accommodate your family or kids?
Prefer working early in the AM or overnight instead of 9-5?
No problem, we’ll set deadlines together and you’ll be responsible for meeting them.

Salary & Terms:
We’re flexible about how to structure salary & the terms of employment for the right individual. That said, we’re a small, new firm and we live contract to contract - so it’s going to be creative.

Final Notes:
-A preference exists for someone based in Toronto, Canada but we’re open to applications globally.
-We’re open to partnerships with another small firm to fill this need if you think you have a creative solution – pitch it to us.
-Learn more about cStreet Campaigns here, and please, no calls.
